Is it a Honey Bee Swarm?

Is it a Honey Bee Swarm?

Our beekeepers are not interested removing wasps, hornets, carpenter bees, or bumble bees.

They are also not interested in collecting honey bees living inside walls.  That is considered a “cut out”.  If you need a “cut out”, please see the contact at the bottom of our list of swarm catchers.

Please do not call anyone on our swarm list for removal of wasps, hornets, carpenter or bumble bees, yellow jackets (usually living in holes in the ground).  If you need any of these removed, please call an exterminator.

Identifying a Honey Bee Swarm:

Honey bee swarms will be a cluster of bees (containing hundreds, but usually thousands of honey bees).

These clusters can vary from the size of a softball (very small swarm) to the size of a couple of basketballs.

Swarms are usually in trees or shrubs but can be found on the outside of a home, on a car, or even a road sign.  They have been seen on the ground, but not in the ground.

Here are some examples of honey bee swarms:
